Renewable and non-renewable resources can be distinguished as below:

Renewable Resources:

  • These resources are called so because their generation and consumption happens in unending cycles.
  • After specific intervals of time, these resources are regenerated through various natural actions.
  • Most renewable resources play important complementary roles in each other's generation.
  • These resources are found in abundance.
  • Most renewable resources do not cause environmental pollution.
  • Resources like solar energy, wind, water, etc., are examples of renewable energy.

Non-renewable Resources:

  • Non-renewable resources are the ones that do not bear the ability to reproduce themselves.
  • These resources get converted into different byproducts after their consumption.
  • The availability of these resources is not as easy and as high as renewable resources.
  • Use of most non-renewable resources causes environmental pollution.
  • Fossil fuels, minerals, etc., are examples of non-renewable resources.
