The only minor differenceswhich we see are due to theMuslim majority there. language - The written script for spoken punjabi in westpunjabis urdu and in east punjab is gurmukhi. Religion -The major religion in west punjab is islam whereas in east punjab it is sikhism / hinduism...

West punjab was a province of Pakistan from 1947 to 1995.
