■XYLEM :

◇Have dead long and hollow vessels .

◇Have lignified cell wall thickenings .

◇Provides cell wall thickening.

◇Prevents vessels from collapsing.

◇Movements of water is upward direction from soil to leaves .

■PHLOEM

□Having living thin tubes placed end to end.

□Ends are connected each other by sieve tubes.

□Sieve tubes is filled with cytoplasm and Sieve plates allow cytoplasm to pass.

□Companion cells contain nuclei and Controls activities of the sieve tubes.

□Can transport substance in the soluble form in all directions to all parts of plant .
