Alphabets are a set of letters or symbols in a fixed order used to represent a basic set of speech sound of a particular language.

A word is the combinations of more than one letter or Alphabet that are arranged in such a sequence that gives a sense.

it may be worth noting that in Indian English, the word alphabet can take on a similar meaning to letter, which can cause confusion. In standard English, the difference is basically that an alphabet is a collection of letters. A letter is a particular symbol used in writing, an alphabet is the set of all the letters.
