-»Child labour is a common practice which engage children in different social and economic activities.
Child labour deprives children of their right to go to school and reinforces intergenerational cycles of poverty.
This practice is in India from ancient times.Children are force to work even they don't want to.
Child labour can result in extreme
extreme bodily and mental harm, and even death. It can lead to slavery and sexual or economic exploitation. And in nearly every case, it cuts children off from schooling and health care, restricting their fundamental rights and threatening their futures.
In the census of 2011 in India it was found that out of 259.6 millions 10.1 millions of children are engaged in child labour. This is almost 3.9% of total child population in India.
To avoid this type of practices government had launched different punishments for the people who did child labour. One such punishment is jail time of between six months and two years and/or fine between Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 50,000.
The ways to prevent child labour are:-
- Spread awareness.
- More stringent laws and effective Implementation.
- Sending more children to school.
- Discouraging people to employ children in homes, shops, factories, etc.
- Supporting NGOs like Save the Children.
- Conclusion.
At last I want to say that we all should contribute towards the prevention of child labour.Every child in India has a right to education and going to school.
Thank You
