Anti- romantic play means against/opposite.
In this case it would be opposite of that which is against a romantic comedy.
In these elements of the romantic comedy we could confirm the features of its antithesis i.e. anti-romantic comedy.
A lighthearted comedy is a romantic tale, for the most part based on a progression of diverting conditions and characters, where love is foiled through outside occasions and misunderstandings yet which at last finishes joyfully.
Anti romantic comedy still has elements from the romantic comedy but it still has other aspects also.
Candida wasn't portrayed as damsel in distress.
The female character is also not portrayed as clueless or in need of man's guidance.
