GATT protects the benefits of developing countries to a certain extent to international trade.

It has established some special measures for these countries, like, providing tariff protection for some industries, quotas for balance of payment.

Because a lot of developing countries joined GATT, at the 1963 meeting of GATT, Part IV was established which gives preferential treatment to developing countries.
