there were both tamil speakers and sinhala speakers in sri lanka but sinhalese were the majority .they dominated the tamil speakers disregarding their needs and not giving them their rights . so the tamils were not happy with the sinhalese. so this led to a civil war in sri lanka which killed a lots of people of both the communities and it affected the economy of the country
