Answer:

The Civil War in Russia broke out after the October revolution in Russia. The main causes of the Civil War were the failure of the provisional government of Kerensky, the treaty of Brest-Litovsk enraged Russians, the increasing influence of the Soviets etc.  Many groups including the Liberals, Socialists, and those who supported autocracy formed to oppose the Lenin’s Bolsheviks. These groups moved to the South of Russia to fight against the Bolsheviks (the reds) to destroy socialism. During the course of time, the Socialist-Revolutionaries or the Greens and the pro- Tsarists or the Whites took control over most of the Russian empire. They gained support from countries such as America, Britain, Japan France, who were against the growth of socialism in Russia.

The Civil War in Russia resulted in the killing of 14,000,000 people and the victory of Bolshevik.
