The following are some of the distinctive features of Mughal chronicles:

1. The chronicles commissioned by the Mughal kings gives us an account  about the empire and its court. These chronicles were written to glorify the Mughal kingdom in front of those who chose to come under its umbrella. The authors of these chronicle mainly concentrated on the event which was closed connected with ruler`s life ,their family, nobles, court, administrative and wars system.

2. It was written in Persian language. The Mughals originally belonged to Chaghtai Turks as a result their mother tongue was Turkish. However the Persian language was followed in the court as well as in literary writings along with language used in Northen India . Hindavi, the most widely used language in Northern India along with it`s regional variants were extensively used.

3. These chronicles narrated the events relating to the reigns of the Mughal emperor’s.

4. The scribes used to keep blank spaces on nearby pages in the book so that scenes or themes if required be provided by visual expression, painting done independently by artist were imbedded  to be followed by what was described in words.
