Dishonest shopkeeper professes to sell pulses at the 20% profit , also he uses a false weight of 800gm for a kg, his actual gain is____%.

he gains % percentage profit by false weighing = error/(true weight - error) × 100

[ error = 1000gm - 800gm = 200gm, true weight = 1000gm ]

= 200/800 × 100 = 25%

now, here you can see that shopkeeper gains two profits 20% by selling and 25% by false weighing.

so, use formula of net profit = P + Q + PQ/100

here , P = 20% and Q = 25%

so, net profit = 20% + 25% + 20 × 25/100 %

= 45% + 5% = 50%

hence, his actual gain is 50%
