THE LEAST COUNT IS 0.01 mm.

  • Least count of any instrument is the smallest and most accurate value that can be measured by that instrument.

5 mm is moved in 5 rotations .

So, in 1 full rotation , distance moved :

 \therefore \: d =  \dfrac{5}{5}  = 1 \: mm

Now, this 1 mm is moved in 100 divisions rotation. Hence, the distance moved in 1 division rotation will be :

 \therefore LC =  \dfrac{1 \: mm}{100}  = 0.01 \: mm

So, least count of the instrument is 0.01 mm.
