eukaryotes - eukaryotic transcription occurs in the nucleus. eukaryotes have three RNA polymerase. In eukaryotes termination is directed by a terminator sequence and a poly -A signal. Each of the three eukaryotic polymerase have different mechanism of termination.
prokaryotes - prokaryotic transcription occurs in the cytoplasm. prokaryotes have one RNA polymerase that handles all transcription. prokaryotic termination is relatively simple with only two different mechanism rho -dependent and rho - independent termination.
