Distinguish between east flowing and West flowing rivers of the peninsular plateau

East flowing rivers :- 1) the major rivers flowing Eastwards : Mahanadi , Godavari , Krishna , Kaveri .  2) these rivers drain in the Bay of Bengal . 3) they carry greater amount of sediments , due to which they form deltas at their month . 4) they have greater number of tributaries West flowing rivers :-  1) there are only two long rivers flow westwards : Narmada, Tapi . 2) these rivers drain in the Arabian Sea . 3) they carry lesser amount of sediments , due to which the form estuaries at their month . 4) they have lesser number of tributaries .
