esterification - In the presence of alcohol and carboxylic acid to give ester.
ch3ch2oh + ch3chooh-ch3cooch2ch3
saponification-in this reaction ester react with acid or base to form salt of carboxylic acid.
eg-ch3cooch2ch3+ naoh- ch3coona+ch3ch2oh.
