• It was started by the Government of India to increase agricultural production of India.
• In Green Revolution the emphasis is on adoption of modern farming methods like High yielding Variety seeds, Chemical fertilizers and pesticides, Modern irrigation methods and modern farm machinery.

• Commercial farming is the farming in which the farmer grows the crops with the sole aim of selling the produce in the market.
• The types of commercial farming are:

1. Extensive Agriculture
2. Mixed Farming
3. Dairy farming

• Crop specialization is one of the characteristic of this type of farming.
