Pollination is the process of transfer of pollen grains from anther to stigma.

Whereas fertilization is the process of fusion of male and female gamete to form zygote. It occurs in ovary.

Hopefully this answer is helpful!❤️

Distinguish between pollination and fertilization:

Pollination:

  • Process of deposition of pollen on the anther of the flower is called as pollination.
  • This first step in male gametophyte formation.
  • It is just a physical process.

Fertilization:

  • Process of fusion of “male and female gametes” leading to the formation of zygote in the flower is called as fertilization.
  • This is first step in zygote formation.
  • It is a biological, chemical and genetical process.

In flower the site of fertilization is ovary and the product of fertilization in embryo.
