Speed

1. Scalar quantity

2. Not dependent on direction

3. Speed may be constant in acclerated motion

4. Speed cannot be negative

Velocity

1. Velocity is a vector quantity

2. It depends on direction

3. Velocity has to change for there to be acceleration

4. Velocity can be negative that denotes its direction

hope it helps

Speed

  • 1. It is a Scalar quantity
  • 2. It is not dependent on direction.
  • 3. Speed may be constant in accelerated motion.
  • 4. Speed cannot be negative.
  • 5. A car completed round on a circular road, the distance in this case will be equal to the circumference.

Velocity

  • 1. Velocity is a vector quantity.
  • 2. It depends on the direction.
  • 3. Velocity has to change for there to be acceleration.
  • 4. Velocity can be negative that denotes its direction.
