•The eastern ghats is lower in elevation, their average elevation is about 600 metres
•The mountains chains are not continuous and are denuded by the rivers which flow into the Bay of Bengal.
•They have been cut across by major rivers like Krishna, Godawari , kaveri and Mahanadi .
