If one part is x then other part will be x+12
Their sum = 72
x+x+12=72
2x+12=72
2x+12-12=72-12
2x=60
/2
2x/2 = 60/2
x=30
One part is 30 so the balance is 42 the other part
Their sum = 72
x+x+12=72
2x+12=72
2x+12-12=72-12
2x=60
/2
2x/2 = 60/2
x=30
One part is 30 so the balance is 42 the other part

Heya..
Here is your answer --
Let the first part be x
Let the second part be x+12
ATQ
x+x+12 = 72
2x+12 = 72
2x = 72-12
2x = 60
x = 60/2
x = 30
First part = x = 30
Second part = x+12 = 30+12 = 42
