Divide rs.305 in three parts so that 3/7 of the first 2/3 of the second and 4/5 of the third are equal find the share of the third one

x = 140 Rs

y = 90 Rs

z = 75 Rs

◆ Explaination -

Let Rs.305 be divided into x, y and z such that -

k = 3x/7 = 2y/3 = 4z/5

From this,

3x/7 = 2y/3

y = 9x/14

Also,

3x/7 = 4z/5

z = 15x/28

All three numbers will add up to 305.

x + y + z = 305

x + 9x/14 + 15x/28 = 305

61x/28 = 305

x = 305 × 28 / 61

x = 140 Rs

So now,

y = 9x/14

y = 9×140/14

y = 90 Rs

And z will be -

z = 15x/28

z = 15×140/28

z = 75 Rs

Therefore, Rs 305 was divided into 140, 90 and 75.
