By Ratio and Proportion method

Formula =
 \frac{ratio \: given}{sum \: of \: ratios}  \times total
Here total = 840
Sum of ratios = 5 + 7 = 12

Kaushal's share = 5
=> 5/12 × 840
= 5 × 70
= ₹350

Akash share = 7
=> 7/12 × 840
= 7 × 70
= ₹490

Method 2
By algebraic equations

Let the money of Kaushal be 5x and Akash be 7x
Given 5x + 7x = 840
=> 12x = 840
x = 840/12
x = 70

Hence Kaushal = 5x = 5 × 70 = ₹350
Akash = 7x = 7 × 70 = ₹490

Hope it helps dear friend ☺️✌️
