let the ratio be 1/5x and 1/6x
then,
1/5x + 1/6x = 880
6x - 5x / 30 = 880
11x / 30 = 880
x = 880 * 30/11
x = 2400
therefore, amount given to arman =
1/5 * 2400
= 480

and, amount given to alok =
1/6 * 2400
= 400
