• Alternative Method •

Put the value of x from x + 6 into 2/3x^2+5x+6

x + 6 = 0

x = - 6

Now put this value in equation

 \frac{2}{3} ( { - 6}^{2} ) + 5( - 6) + 6 = 0 \\  \\  \frac{2}{3}  \times 36 - 30 + 6 = 0 \\  \\ 24 - 30 + 6 = 0  \\  \\ 0 = 0

This means x+6 is a factor of 2/3x^2+5x+6
