Journey of product from producer to consumer goes as follows :

The merchant distributes work among the weavers based on the orders he has received for cloth.

Then, provide the weavers with the yarn and the weavers in result supply the merchant with cloth.

Then, the merchant sell the cloth to the garment factories which use such cloth to make shirts and  

in turn export such shirts to foreign buyers as well.

Producers are those organisms which make their own food, for example plants. Consumers are those organisms that are either directly or indirectly dependent on producers for their food, these organisms cannot prepare their own food.

A product is first manufactured in the industry so we take an example of biscuit manufacturing and reaching it to the retailer and consumer.

For example, Britannia is introducing a new range of biscuits for its customers so it gets the patent and trademarks for that particular product.

Then they start manufacturing the biscuits in the factory and then send them to wholesaler or state distributors and this chain will be continuously followed till it reach to the final consumers.
