(As a student)

Most students who use drugs regularly don't consistently do well in school. Studies show that marijuana, for example, affects your attention, memory, intelligence and ability to learn. Students who smoke marijuana tend to get lower grades and are more likely to drop out of high school.

Answer: Yes, Drugs affect intelligences. Drugs are not always which we get from medicines. Drug can be anything which make us addicted to that particular state of the moment.

Example: When we use social media , it produces a chemical name dopamine in the brain which is same chemical produce when we drink and gamble. In other words, Its highly highly addictive. Due to short-term dopamine loop that we get from messages or like we get stimuli reward for checking our phones 150 times a day, which makes our consiousness to the present moment weak. The law of practice whatever we practice we become good at it thus if we practice using drugs then we become good at consumption of it, Therefore our consious brain mucle becomes weake.
