Yes Non-biodegradable substances affects our environment because they pollute our environment as they cannot be decomposed by microorganisms it takes a very long time to decompose non-biodegradable substances. They may also pollute our environment by producing harmful toxic gases if burned. Examples of non-biodegradable items:

  • Plastic items (Grocery bag,plastic water bottles etc.)
  • Wires and Cables
  • Styrofoam
