These are the Reasons for why Mahathma Gandhi considered to be Father of the Nation
Mahatma Gandhiji is revered in India as the Father of the Nation. Much before the Constitution of Free India conferred the title of the Father of the Nation upon the Mahatma, it was Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose who first addressed him as such in his condolence message to the Mahatma on the demise of Kasturba.
He provided the template for a political and spiritual vision of the nation. Just as a parent should provide both physical and spiritual notions of the good to a child, Gandhi did this for his nation. While other leaders possessed conceptions of what India could be, Gandhi was able to posit a notion of the good where political freedom was sought after spiritual liberation. In this light, he sought to transform the nation and those who were in it. It is because of this that he is called "Father." He sought to give much more than a political ideal. Gandhi's methods of protest, stances on politics, and his entire state of being was based on spiritual elevation. It is in this that we see individuals flocking to both his ideas and his teachings, just as one would flock to a wise father.
Mahatma gandhi also called Bapu is father of the nation as he was the chief architect of the independence struggle which he fought on the values of Non violence. Albert Einstine the greatest Scientist ever born on the earth said future generation will not believe that a person like Gandhi walked on the earth.Martin Luther KingJr and nelson mandelas were the great follower of mahatma gandhi.
Netaji sent the following message to the Mahatma on Azad Hind Radio, Rangoon on 4th June, 1944. "...........Nobody would be more happy than ourselves if by any chance our countrymen at home should succeed in liberating themselves through their own efforts or by any chance, the British Government accepts your `Quit India' resolution and gives effect to it. We are, however proceeding on the assumption that neither of the above is possible and that a struggle is inevitable. Father of our Nation in this holy war for India's liberation, we ask for your blessings and good wishes".When Gandhi was assassinated, India's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru, in a radio address to the nation, had announced that the Father of the Nation "is no more."
