No, it is a part on india.
its a state..and territory of india.
And all rules and movement was controlled by indian Government only.
kashmir cannot be independent country.
Reasons are:
1)Kashmir is land locked by three major powers of Asia and without one of them, they can’t really survive.
2)Somewhere down the line I agree that AFSPA should be liberalized and a thorough inquiry should be done on atrocities but Independent Kashmir will be encroached by Pakistan and China. Remember accession by India while Pakistani tribals attacked Kashmir and of-course Aksai Chin.
3)Kashmir do not generate enough revenue to sustain itself and it is completely dependent on India for food grain. You can’t eat apples all the time.
4)Making Kashmir Switzerland of Asia is completely hypothetical and I don’t think that it will ever materialize.
