there is a difference between mutiny and revolt.mutiny means to break the rules and regulations or to act against the rules and regulations of administrative government but revolt means to start showing aggression and to rebel.
but according to me,the mutiny of 1857 was not only a mutiny but a revolt against britishers as in this killing is also involved,plundering,etc.
