Bystander effect is a socio-psychological phenomenon in which people don't tend to help someone in presence of others, despite noticing. This is when people start to rely on others in terms of help or action. They believe that the other would take action, instead of doing it themselves. Bystander not only affects public scenarios but also personal priorities.

When it comes to mate choice, bystander effect does effect it as a person tends to rely on the other to propose their choice of mating, and do not show their affection or attraction. This is mostly experienced in females as compared to males. In this case, bystander is prompted by the doubt one carries before making any move.

While foraging cooperation most people tend to rely on others. However, it also depends on the personality of the person as well. If the person is outgoing and confident he/she might be the first one to seek cooperation as compared to an introvert and shy person.

Habit selection is a personalized choice, which cannot be affected by the choice of others. One can choose their habitual preferences solely on the basis of their personality.

Territoriality is somewhat affected by the bystander effect. In territoriality a person has to encounter public phenomenon which may eventually be effected by bystander effect.
