The gravitational acceleration assumed to be constant everywhere on the earth but actually it is not the case.

Explanation:

There are two reasons to explain the above fact.

Firstly, the planet Earth is not uniformly spherical and dense. Moreover, it has weaker gravity at the equator due to the centrifugal forces caused by rotation of earth.

Secondly, gravitational force is inversely proportional to the distance between the object and earth. So, we can say that gravitational acceleration is not constant everywhere.

Answer:

Explanation:

Gravity is often assumed to be the same everywhere on Earth, but it varies because the planet is not perfectly spherical or uniformly dense. In addition, gravity is weaker at the equator due to centrifugal forces produced by the planet's rotation.

The variation in apparent gravitational acceleration (g) at different locations on Earth is caused by two things: The distance between the centers of mass of two objects affects the gravitational force between them, so the force of gravity on an object is smaller at the equator compared to the poles.
