No chalk powder does not dissolve in water

The main component of chalk is calcium carbonate. In water the solubility of chalk is low so, only a minute amount of calcium carbonate can be dissolved in the water and rest will be remain solid. Chalk is normally made of mineral so, usually it does not dissolve in water. Chalk has the characteristics of low solubility in water to make the chalk to dissolve in water more time is needed.

Answer:

The answer to this question is no. The chalk powder is not capable of dissolving in water.

Chalk is composed of calcium carbonate which can only be dissolved in water to some extent. This is the reason behind the low solubility of chalk in water.

The composition of chalk prevents it from completely dissolving in water, as it is composed of calcium carbonate. Thus, only a limited amount of chalk can be dissolved while the rest is partially liquefied.
