yes.. geographical isolation leads to the formation of new species. let's consider an example.. there comes a mountain in between two groups of the population.. thus the two groups are totally separated. the two population will grow and survive separately facing different geographical conditions. they will develop adjustment over such conditions.. and will the passage of time these geographical conditions will ultimately lead to the development of new characters in that group which will be totally different from that of another group.. thus there will be the birth of a new generation
