yes water pollution to affect animals for instance animals use water wildly for drinking and if these water bodies contains some harmful ingredients then animals face a lot of problem defer from a lot of disease including disease which has also if we also take water from the rivers directly and drink it then we will find that we also suffer from any disease such as diarrhoea typhoid jaundice etc. polluted water is also harmful for Marine organisms for example the fish living in water cannot take oxygen easily when there is a coating of oil present over the water body and if some chemical waste release into water then fishes die due to that chemical .
