1)- Yes, we can have unified theory (theory of everything). We just need to combine general relativity with quantum mechanics we will have THEORY OF EVERYTHING, which will explain us everything. BOOM!!!!!

2)-well this is tough
According to me in rocks there are some microorganisms living in the pores of rock near the oceans. If they get proper nutrients they will evolve and form CELL, and then these cell will form complex life form or we can say a civilisation of aliens (or humans).
