Born in a Mvezo, South Africa, Nelson Mandela belonged to a Thembu royal family. He is best known as a South African activist who fought against the racial segregation in South Africa. He was influenced by Gandhi Ji thus he followed the policy of Non-violence, but when he found that this policy is not going to work, he launched the armed resistance. He was a person who became the President of the African National Congress party. He later in the year 1994 was elected as the first Black President of South Africa.
