Draw a circle with centre O and radius 2 cm, Draw a tangent segments having length in square root 12 cm through a exterior point P of that circle. Find the distance of point P from the centre of a circle. ​

Radius = 2 cm

Distance of point p from center  = √ ((√12)² + 2²)

= √(12 + 4)

= √16

= 4

Cos θ= 2/4 = 1/2

=> θ = 60°

Step 1 : Draw a circle with radius = 2 cm using compass taking o as center

Step 2 : Draw  a Line OP  of length = 4 cm

Step 3 : Draw an angle of 60 °  at O on OP  and intersect circle at A

Step 4 : Join PA

PA is tangent to circle  of length = √12 cm
