bismillah khan was a great shehnai player. he was born on 21 March 1906.he belongs to the family of professional shehnai player. at the of 6 he went to the benaras with his maternal uncle ali bux. where ali bux introduced him to a simple reed playing musicial instrument shehnai. bismillah khan started playing shehnai. and he became the the professional in shehnai. he got many awards for his talent of playing shehnai. bismillah khan begged 3 medals at kolkata. on 15 August 1947 he was invited by by pandit nehru at the red fort to play the shehnai on the occasion of getting freedom from British. he was a great musician.
