we know the relation between electric field intensity and perpendicular distance r from the line of charge. it is given by, E=\frac{\lambda}{2\pi\epsilon_0r}

where \lambda denotes linear charge density, r is perpendicular distance from the line of charge and \epsilon_0 denotes permittivity of medium.

here it is clear that, Electric field intensity, E is inversely proportional to perpendicular distance r from the line of charge.

graph will be hyperbolic as shown in figure.
