Draw a line and mark points A and B on it such

Step-1 : Using a scale, draw a line AB of length 6.5 cm. Mark a point O on line AB so that AO=2.5 cm

Step-2 : Using a compass, draw arcs on the line AB using O as centre. Let the arcs be on both sides of point O.

Let the arcs be of equal length. Let the arcs meet line AB at p and q as shown in figure.

Then using p and q as centers, draw arc of equal length above line AB so that the arcs will meet at r as shown in figure.

Through the meeting point of arcs r, draw a line towards the point O. This line is the required perpendicular to line AB.

Perpendicular line makes 90° angles with line AB
