Draw a rough sketch of a regular hexagon connecting any three of its Vertices, draw a triangle.Indentify the type of the triangle You have drawn.
Answer
a). In a regular hexagon all sides are equal.
By connecting vertices A,C or F,D or B,F,etc.we form triangles where the two sides of the hexagon becomes two sides of the triangle which are equal, making them isosceles triangle.
b). By conneting vertices A, C and F,we form a right-angled triangle.CAF where ∠CAF = 90°
Similarly,by joining vertices D,A and F we form a right-angled triangle DFA where ∠DFA = 90°
c). By joining the vertices B,F and D,we form an equilateral triangle(all the sides are equal)
Many such triangles can be formed by jointing any three vertices of a regular hexagon.
