Given : sides 5cm 6cm and 8cm

To Find : Draw a triangle

draw an isosceles triangle of the same area

Solution:

Step 1 : Draw a line segment AB =  8 cm

Step 2 : Using compass width = 5 cm and taking A as center draw an arc

Step 3 :  Using compass width = 6 cm and taking B as center draw an arc such that it intersects arc drawn in previous step at point C

Step 4 :  Join AC and BC

Triangle ABC is constructed

draw an isosceles triangle of the same area

Draw a line parallel to AB passing through C

Draw perpendicular bisector of AB   and intersects line drawn in previous step at D

Join AD and BD
