REDUCTION OF COPPER OXIDE :
- Copper oxide is reduced using a reducing agent namely Methane (CH4).
- First of all, copper oxide is taken into a special test tube.
- The test tube is heated with a Bunsen burner. The test tube is supplied with methane with a pipe.
- Now, the excess methane is removed from the apical part of the test tube through a small hole.
- In this reaction, Copper (II) oxide is reduced to form Copper , Water and Carbon dioxide.
