Subject: Conservation of water
Sir,
Through the esteemed columns of your prestigious newspaper, I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authorities towards the misuse and wastage of water being done these days.
There is no denying the fact that water is a natural and renewable resource and is also available in abundance. But at the same time, we are also aware of another fact that it takes a lot of time for this resource to replenish. Therefore, water must be used very carefully and judiciously with minimal wastage. Rain water harvesting and various other techniques to save water must be used to conserve this precious resource.
I would like you to publish such articles in your newspaper regularly to create an awareness amongst the masses. I would really be grateful to you.
Thanking you in anticipation of a favourable response.

Subject: Water Pollution - An Increasing Threat
Sir
Through this letter I want to reach out to the reader and the authorities concerned to stress upon the need to conserve our water resources.
The Ganges, which was considered as a holy river, has been rendered dirty due to growing industrialization, deforestation, population and toxic wastes emitted into it.
The early civilizations settled around rivers because rivers are the life line of any nation. Gradually we started taking them for granted and kept dirtying them in various forms. Washing cattle, clothes, bathing, draining industrial wastes are a few to name. The fresh water resources on earth are limited and unless sustainable measures are taken, water crisis on the earth may grow into a war-like proportion.
We can't undo the past, but we can always attempt to make the future better. We must join hands with the government and spread awareness about the need to stop water pollution.. Both domestic as well as industrial waste should be disposed off as per the safety measures. Afforestation and adopting three R's, i.e. Refuse, Recycle and Reuse will help in sustainability in a long run.
Thank you
