The dry and wet test for anions analysis are dry heating test with dilute sulphuric acid where we have to identify the gas evolved as a product. When sodium chloride reacts with sulphuric acid we get Sodium bisulphate and hydrochloric acid precipitate

The wet test include reaction with acid radicals such as dilute hydrochloric acid where when calcium carbonate is added with dilute hydrochloric acid weak at calcium chloride carbon dioxide and water and then when lime water is treated with carbon dioxide we get CaCO_{3} and water.
