during extraction of metals electrolytic refining is used to obtain pure metal which material will be used as anode and cathode in this process for refining silver suggest a suitable electrolyte in which electrode will you get pure silver after the process draw a well labelled diagram of it

akkukaushik270pdjwdz: Anode- impure silver
akkukaushik270pdjwdz: Cathode - pure silver
akkukaushik270pdjwdz: Electrolyte- silver salt such as AgNO3 or AgCl
akkukaushik270pdjwdz: We get pure silver at cathode

✨✔️✔️HERE IS YOUR ANSWER

✨ ELECTROLYTIC REFINING OF METALS....

IN THIS PROCESS IMPURE METAL IS MADE THE ANODE AND A THIN STRIP OF PURE METAL IS MADE OF CATHODE. ON PASSING THE CURRENT THROUGH THE ELECTROLYTE, THE PURE METAL FROM THE ANODE DISSOLVES INTO THE ELECTROLYTE. AN EQUIVALENT AMOUNT OF PURE METAL FROM THE ELECTROLYTE IS DEPOSITED ON CATHODE. THE SOLUBLE IMPURITIES GO. INTO THE SOLUTION, WHEREAS THE INSOLUBLE IMPURITIES SETTLE DOWN AT THE BOTTOM OF THE ANODE AND ARE KNOWN AS ANODE MUD.

Electrolyte:- A solution of metal salt is used as an Electrolyte.

Impure silver is used as anode and pure silver is used as cathode.
