sub: Issues and suggestions related to corruption
Through the columns of your highly esteemed newspaper, I would like to draw the attention of the people towards the state of corruption in our country which is still practiced on a wide level and has not curbed so far. I would like to highlight the issues and would like to suggest some ways to curb it.
As we know that corruption affects the poorest the most, though all elements of society are affected in some way as it undermines democracy, social and economic development, health, etc.. Corruption undermine development and exacerbate inequality and poverty.
Corruption:
Increase Debt
Benefit the company, not the country
Damage the environment
Now we should at least follow some ways to tackle this problem like
Strengthening Democracy's Transparency pillar; knowing what goes on in society and being able to make informed decisions should improve participation and also check accountability.
Address weaknesses in the global system
Improve govt budget transperancy
Make it harder to embezzle billions
At last but not the least I would like to suggest that we should before it gets any worsened, we should start trying directly from a grassroot level.
Thanking you
Yours faithfully,
