Bees are pollinating agents.

This means, that bees help in pollination of flowers and on this way, help in maintaining a healthy population of such flowering plants.

If the bees are wiped out, then the rate of pollination would reduce drastically. This would result in extremely less crop production.

Thus, the existence of bees is important to the survival of plants.

And the survival of plants is essential to the survival of humanity.

That is why, if the bees died, we all would die of hunger in a few years time.
