After that I draw the Lewis dot structure for Sodium. Note: Sodium is in Group 1. Since it is in Group 1 it will have 1 valence electrons. When you draw the Lewis structure for Sodiumyou'll put one "dot" or valance electron next to the element symbol (Na).
